Washes in Arizona

Image
I do love to paint in the dry washes in Arizona. This view is from the  main wash at  Catalina State Park.   Not even a trickle of water this year, but apparently enough to  send out spring leaves on the trees.  Spring Greens in the Catalina State Park wash 10" x 20" oil on linen panel $700  framed (15" x 25")

Painting the Figure

Image
After a years hiatus from figure painting due to Covid,  Toscana Studio and Gallery is resuming Friday model sessions.  Sessions are outdoors, well spaced and masks required for artists.  It was so much fun to do this again!!! "Beer Thirty with Bubba" 12" x 9" oil on canvas panel Available Some of the group at the modeling session

Water in the Desert

Image
There is water in the Desert !!  Winter snowfall in the mountains melts and rushes down the washes to repenish the native flora. This has been a very dry year, but I found water in some of my favorite spots. When the temps rise painting water seems cooling. "Respite-Sweetwater Wetlands" 16" x 20 " oil on stretched canvas $400 "Spring Reflections" 10" x 8" oil on stretched canvas $125 "Sabino Creek-study" 8" x 10" oil on canvas panel $125
