A new Decade Begins

Is there a better way to start a New Year in a New Decade than spending time outside painting?
My first trip out to paint after a busy holiday season was to Sweetwater Wetlands.
It was a cool crisp morning with the sound of birds chirping, and laughter of school children on a field trip in the distance. My painting buddy and I decided that since it was so pleasant, we would start a second painting.  The light had changed and the air had warmed.  Perfect day !!

Summer in South Haven, Michigan

 I summer in a small lake town on the west side of Michigan.   The colors are different. The atmosphere is often heavy with humidity.  And this year the smoke from the Canadian wildfires have changed the color of the sky.
