The Sonoran Plein Air Painters met at Kings Canyon trail head
 a few weeks ago in the late afternoon.
This painting sat in my studio for a while as I tried to figure out
 how to handle the very dark foreground.

Summer in South Haven, Michigan

 I summer in a small lake town on the west side of Michigan.   The colors are different. The atmosphere is often heavy with humidity.  And this year the smoke from the Canadian wildfires have changed the color of the sky.
